2022 WORK

24" wide x 36'' tall This piece was painted Live at a well-known Winston-Salem Christmas event. I used various mediums of acrylic and gesso to create the textured layers and used a finger painting technique to create the desired strokes. The piece is my view of a crowded Heaven - looking into the love and light of our Creator.

36’’ wide x 18’’ tall The mountains of Asheville, NC seem to burst into flames of Autumn reds and oranges against the bright blue sky. This hike revealed to me more shades of red than I had ever seen in one landscape.

36’’ wide x 18’’ tall This work embodies the feeling of sitting on the beach with your love as the sun sets – everything around you caught in the embrace of the golden rays as the sky slowly blends into the sea…maybe it’s the hopeless romantic in me. In this impressionistic piece, an orange glow radiates off the dark blue glass surface of the water and propels into the sky, enveloping the blue for a moment before it is soaked up by the vast sea.

22’’ wide x 28’’ tall While studying abroad in Croatia I was fascinated by the red roofs of all the houses and buildings – the coastal town of Split appeared from above as a sea of brick red against the soft blues and pinks of the water and sky.

24’’ wide x 18’’ tall Here stands a dairy cow in the luscious foliage of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The warm greens and oranges placed beside the cool blues bring a feeling to the landscape that is inviting and creates a golden glow. This Carolina cow could walk right off the canvas into your living room!

6’’ wide x 6’’ tall Spring on Pilot Mountain is filled with crisp air and crisp green everywhere you look. The plant-life of Spring brings a fervent energy that leaves behind the composed quiet Winter landscape. The brushstrokes in this piece strive to bring that energy to the canvas.

24’’ wide x 36’’ tall Every time I drive past this teapot in Old Salem I am mesmerized by its distinct weighted presence. This piece draws from the similar posture and weight of the water towers above the downtown Winston-Salem buildings (especially the red one) and focuses on the feeling of CONFIDENCE that holds you steady.

6’’ wide x 6’’ tall This work is inspired by the Reynolda Gardens lush field at the center of the trail loop. The tall grass and grain brush the sky as the sun is setting, creating a soft peach light that sweeps over the expanse of the field. The Lord’s grace is warm and abundant in much this same way drawing us to him.

6’’ wide x 6’’ tall As an Ardmore resident, this church is one I frequently walk by. On this particular day, the already white church exterior, tall pines and the surrounding street were blanketed in snow - the historic district sign stuck out in bright contrast and made me stop to take in the quaint scenery. Even as a blizzard ensued around me, I felt a soft peace in the crisp cold white of snow.
2021 WORK

22'' wide x 28'' tall This work symbolizes the division in our city due to the creation of highway 52 and the opportunity, or rather responsibility in love, that we have as a community to create unity by building bridges across that divide.

6'' wide x 6'' tall My grandfather's home in Heaven - no hills or valleys just rivers of love and all the warm colors.

22'' wide by 28'' tall The blue parkway winds right through the fall embers into the cool expanse of the Blue Ridge mountains.
